Activity Hub at LME
  • The Activity Hub is Lower Mill Estate's on-site Activity Company that can arrange equipment hire, instruction and arrange a host of outdoor activities based at LME.

  • Activity Hub is based at the Water Mill in Mill Village, which is one of only two Water Mills still in working condition on the Thames.

  • The staff are canoe coaches who can give you an induction or tailor bespoke activities specific to your group’s needs. Passionate about having fun while staying safe, they will coach you through the basics of water safety at Lower Mill and have a wealth of information on the immediate area as well as attractions close by and within the Cotswold Waterpark.

  • Please view their Brochure below for Activity ideas for your stay.

Wildlife Spotting and Walks
  • With professionally tended woodland and meadows all within the estate's  expansive boundaries, the vast array of resident and visiting wildlife includes;

  • Beavers,  otters, muntjac  deer,  kingfisher,  grebes, badgers,  herons, barn  and tawny owls, egrets, grebes, teals and sand martins.

  • There are three bird hides, a beaver hide, bat boxes and numerous bird boxes on the estate.

  • In  October  2005,  six beavers  were  re-introduced to Britain in 500 years and the site of their return was Flagham Fen on LME.

  • A beaver hide on one of the banks provides CCTV viewing of some of  their  favourite  spots.  Even  if  they are  being shy  you will  certainly  see evidence  of  their  activities  -  felled trees and gnawed branches.

Miss_Mouse_Trail.jpg
Miss Mouse Trail
  • ‘Miss Mouse Builds a House’ was born from a concept that Jeremy Paxton the original owner/visionary had developed many years ago and was something his  children and current owners wanted to bring to completion in his memory.

  • He wanted to develop a story relevant to Lower Mill Estate encompassing as many species as he could from the Estate whilst making it a fun, learning experience for children.

  • The idea has developed a cast of characters and incorporated them into the Miss Mouse Adventure Trail, launched in 2014, which is designed to help children explore our Nature Reserve, covering hundreds of acres, in its entirety.

  • In 2015 LME proudly completed the Miss Mouse story – Miss Mouse Builds a House – which is available from the Lower Mill General Store.

  • The Miss Mouse Trail is a family friendly treasure trail around Lower Mill Estate’s 500 acre nature reserve. Follow the map to locate each character from the Miss Mouse series and open a treasure chest using a different code. Inside each chest is a special treat free for each child to take home with them. Complete the trail and receive a complimentary goody bag. Great outdoor  fun for young and old!
